Beloved partner of Sharon Caris, father of Michael and Guy, father-in-law of Kate and adored grandfather of Sophie.

A gentle articulate man: journalist, film critic of The Age for 25 years, horse rider and instructor, pianist, talented portrait artist.

He touched many with his wit, integrity and compassion.
